As part of their “Giving Back to the Community”, the Courtyard Hershey Chocolate Avenue management team recently prepared meals for the families at The Ronald McDonald House® in Hershey, Pennsylvania.

The Ronald McDonald House® is built on the simple idea that nothing else should matter when a family is focused on the health of their child – not where they can afford to stay, where they will get their next meal or where they will lay their head at night to rest.

The house in Hershey is for the families of the children at the Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center.  Thirty-five meals were prepared and boxed for the families staying at the house the evening the staff prepared the meal.  Due to the restrictions, they still have it was a bit different than in the past.  Due to the limitations on the number of people cooking Elias Thompson, General Manager; Sandy Barscheski, Director of Sales and Kevin Grant, Sales Manager for the hotel cooked and served the meals.

The hotel has also donated overnight stays for the organization’s annual gala’s silent auction to raise money for the house.  And most recently the General Managers and Directors of Sales put some backpacks together at their regional meeting and donated them to the children.
