Bourbon and Chocolate pairing?  Not something you hear about every day. However, the AC Hotel Columbus Dublin recently hosted a Bourbon and Chocolate pairing event at their hotel.   The event was the product of planning by Orcun Turkay; General Manager, Ulises Infante; Assistant General Manager and Josua Lenardos; Assistant Food and Beverage Director. 


The hotel was honored to have Joann Street, the brand ambassador of Wild Turkey and daughter of Jimmy Russell, who has been the Master Distiller of Wild Turkey for more than 40 years.  Ms. Street educated AC staff on the history of Wild Turkey, the Russell family and seven different Wild Turkey products.


After the staff training the hotel hosted a fund raiser from which the proceeds were presented to the Nicole Wilcox Foundation. This foundation supports and gives back to women and their families who are currently or have once battled any form of cancer.


Kilwins Chocolate, out of Dublin as well as Wild Turkey donated the chocolate and the Bourbon for the event. Long Branch Bourbon Whiskey with a Bavarian Crème Chocolate, the 10-year-old Russell with an Almond Bark and the Kentucky Spirit Single Barrel with a Dark Chocolate Truffle.   


Ms. Street also gave a presentation at the event where she spoke about her family and the traditions and distilling process of Wild Turkey.  Ms. Street was gracious enough to answer some quite odd and unique questions at the end of her presentation.


Just a little trivia:

The Kentucky Spirit Single Barrel Bourbon can only be found one place in the world and that one place is at the Vaso Rooftop Lounge located at the AC Hotel Columbus!!!
