Ronald McDonald House – Lancaster County Community Auction Community Service Event

The Ronald McDonald House of Central PA has helped families with sick children stay close to each other and assist in providing the care and resources that they might need. Core programs include serving families of seriously ill or injured children that are receiving critical treatment at Penn State Children’s Hospital in Hershey, PA.

The Ronald McDonald House in Hershey provides a place to stay across the street from the hospital. From a cozy bed, warm shower or a hot meal provided entirely by local volunteers, families can find a respite during a very stressful time.

The Amish community is included in the involvement of the Ronald McDonald House. As a thank you from the Amish community to the Ronald McDonald House, the Amish hold a large annual community auction was held on May 15th, all funds made that day are donated to the Ronald McDonald House. Everything from quilts, furniture, tools, to all of the wonderful homemade food items are available for sale.

The staff of the Fairfield Inn & Suites Harrisburg International Airport were fortunate to be able to donate our time on the day of the event to assist in its success.
