Last week, Trip Advisor released the winners of the 2017 Certificate of Excellence.  Shaner Hotels had more winners this year than ever before with 35 of the 39 eligible properties earning the award.  Three restaurants received the accolade as well making it a total of 38 awards..  The Certificate of Excellence is awarded to hotels/restaurants that have been open for at least one year and maintain an average score of 4.0 or better.  Other factors, such as quantity of reviews, come into play as well when determining the recipients.  Most of Shaner’s hotels are multi-year winners of the award while six are receiving the award for the very first time.
