Spreading Holiday Cheer
This year we’ve shown you several ways that associates at Shaner properties have given back to their communities this holiday season. Here are two more examples of our dedicated associates spreading the holiday cheer.
For the past three years, the Marriott Pittsburgh has hosted children from the Association for Children with Learning Disabilities (ACLD) Tillotson School. Since 1973, the ACLD Tillotson School has educated students who cannot receive an appropriate special education program in the public schools. They are licensed to serve students with Autism Spectrum Disorder and specific learning disabilities. Each year the students design and create gingerbread houses and bring them to the hotel to display in the lobby. This year they were given a tour of the hotel and were told about all the “behind the scenes” work that takes place in order for a hotel to operate. Two students even took home applications. This is a great holiday tradition that is enjoyed by both the students and hotel associates alike.

Meanwhile, associates at the Courtyard Marathon were spreading holiday cheer to some children in need. The hotel partnered with a a local organization called Presents in Paradise that has been providing presents for about 100 local children in need annually. The hotel provided a meeting room, snacks and plenty of volunteers to help assemble 30 bikes and sort hundreds of gifts to be distributed by the organization.

Great job everyone! Happy Holidays!
